AUXILIARY NATIONAL CONFERNCE: Plans continue for NACON 2008 in Orlando and the deadlines for reservations and registration are rapidly approaching. The cutoff date for hotel reservations is July 17th. Please go to the website www.cgauxa.org/nacon2008/ then click on HOTEL RESERVATIONS to make online reservations at the Rosen Centre. In addition, the “Early Bird” conference registration fee ends on July 17th. Use the same website then click on ONLINE REGISTRATION to complete the online registration process. If you do not wish to use the online registration process you may print the PDF version of the registration form then complete it by hand and mail it with payment to Ann Beecher, N-CR at the address provided on the form. Contact Ann at Beecher@centurytel.net if you have any questions regarding registration for NACON 2008. The regular registration fee will apply to all registrations not received by July 17th. Mail in registration must be completed by August 1st. Online registration ends on August 10th. We anticipate descriptions of the training workshops scheduled for Friday August 22nd and Saturday August 23rd will be posted to the website by July 1st. Workshops are planned for Operational Security, Rescue 21, Diversity, AIM/Uniforms, Retention, Public Education, and Interpreter Program. Please check back periodically to see what new information has been added. Plan to attend now, register and make your reservations quickly so you do not miss out on a great time in Orlando.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary History Book - Order with Turner Publishing. This book chronicles the dedicated service of Auxiliarists since the birth of the organization in 1939 through its transition into the Department of Home land Security.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary History Book – After a long wait the history book U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Birth to the New Normalcy, 1939 – 2007, is available for purchase through Turner Publishing. Those who previously purchased pre-orders should have received your copy. If not, please contact Turner Publishing directly regarding your previous order. Those who have not previously ordered the book now have an opportunity to get one. Please use the link provided to make your order

The Pentagon Federal Credit Union now offers membership to Auxiliarists. Steven M. Budar, CGAuxA Chairman/CEO and Fran k R. Pollack, PFCU President/CEO announced this opportunity to Auxiliary members in a mailing during December 2006. The agreement includes allowing members to obtain a special Auxiliary VISA Platinum Cash Rewards credit card that provides 1% cash back to you-paid monthly as well as 0.25% going to the organization to support Auxiliary programs. The card was recently upgraded to also include 5% cash back on gasoline purchases made at the pump using the credit card . There is no annual fee for this credit card. Joining the Pentagon Federal Credit Union opens the door to all their superior-rated financial services. The previous agreement with MBNA-BOA for providing members an Auxiliary credit card expired . Members who wish to retain that card may do so but MBNA-BOA no longer provides financial support to the organization in supporting Auxiliary programs . You may cancel your card through MBNA-BOA if desired.

OPERATIONS POLO SHIRT: Optional uniform item authorized for wear in the operations program. (Please review the guidance provided in the Auxiliary Manual and other notices issued through the Chief Director’s office regarding wear requirements and appropriate operational uniforms.)

Authorized dark blue operations polo shirt, USCG AUXILIARY embroidered in white on the left front side with Auxiliarists’ LAST NAME embroidered in white on the right front side. Sizes small (SM) through extra large (XL) cost $32.50 each; two extra large (XXL) costs $35.00 each; and three extra large (XXXL) costs $38.00 each. Quantity ordered determines shipping and handling fees. Shipped direct from the embroidery vendor using UPS so a shipping street address is required (no post office boxes) for delivery.
